April 20, Sunday: Spring Paddle at Patterson Environmental Park
A 2-hour paddle south on the East Branch Croton River and back. Launch time is 10:00 am. Canoes, paddles, and floatation vests will be supplied, or bring your own equipment. Meet at the Patterson Environmental Park launch site at the end of Marble Quarry Road. Children must be 16 or older. More information and registration at link above.
April 27, Sunday Gordon Douglas Reserve – West Hike & Trail Cam Class
We will hike about 5 miles over 4 hours through our private reserve and will include instruction on setting up wildlife trail cameras. Most of the hike will be off trail and includes steep terrain. Meet at Metro-North Appalachian Trail parking lot on Route 22 in Pawling at 9:00 am. Receive actual trail cam photos on your phone after the event.
May 4, Sunday Checking on the Rookery Paddle on the North Flow
A 2-hour paddle south on the Swamp River and back downriver to the great blue heron rookery to see the chicks. Launch time is 7:00 am. Canoes, paddles, and floatation vests will be supplied, or bring your own equipment. Meet at DEC launch site off Wheeler Road by the Harlem Valley – Wingdale Metro-North train station. May 17, Saturday Green Chimneys Paddle
May 18, Sunday Green Chimneys Paddle
We will explore the Great Swamp on the East Branch Croton River upstream from Green Chimneys. Paddle duration will be about 2 hours. Canoe, paddles, and floatation vests will be supplied, or bring your own equipment. Paddles are scheduled to start at 8:00 and 10:00 am from the Green Chimneys launch site across from the school at 400 Doansburg Rd, Brewster, NY. Children must be 6 or older. Lifeguard provided.
