Please note that the deadline for submissions for the 2026 art show has now passed (September 28th) but works created now will be eligible for the 2027 show.
For all the painters, sketchers, and photographers amongst you, we have scheduled numerous Plein Air events through the summer to help inspire your Art Show submissions! We hope you’ll join us for these creative outings—some held on private properties generously opened just for us—where you can sketch, photograph, paint, or simply take in the landscape.
All works depicting the Great Swamp and its wildlife will be eligible for consideration in the prestigious FrOGS-sponsored Great Swamp Celebration and Art Show on October 17-18, 2026. Further details about the Art Show and the prospectus to enter can be found here.

October 10, Saturday, starting at 3:00 pm. Join photographer Lonna Kelly, who gave up her DSLR for an iPhone, for a fall photo walk with tips on smartphone photography techniques and features. This a great opportunity to explore your phone and share ideas. The location is an easily walkable path through the autumn woods around Diverting Reservoir in Brewster on. October 12, Monday, from 9:30 a.m. till closing at Great Hollow Nature Preserve. We should have good fall colors. This is our first time at Great Hollow this year, and if you have not been yet, you’ll have a chance to see what you have missed! All kinds of landscapes – stream, trails, forest, meadows, and waterfall.
October 19, Monday, 9:30 – Noon at Akin Library, Pawling, NY. Lovely views, big shade trees, distinctive architecture and lots of nature to draw or photograph inside as well. Please register with Sharon if you plan to attend.
