Friends, supporters, members, and all residents in the surrounding communities are invited to join FrOGS for a weekend celebrating the awesome beauty, incalculable value and prominent benefits of the Great Swamp. Each year this event is full of fun, educational, and inspirational activities for the whole family. The 29th Annual Great Swamp Celebration and Art Show will take place on Saturday and Sunday, October 18 and 19 at Christ Church on Quaker Hill (17 Church Road, Pawling, NY).
Open from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm on Saturday and Noon until 4:00 pm on Sunday.
Admission is free to all.
The Celebration will feature:
- Our premier, juried, Great Swamp-themed Art Show and sale
- Children’s Art Show, including the High School Dunlop competition
- Master Falconer Jim Eyring’s “Birds of Prey” show on both days
- Live swamp animals including raptors, a snake, turtle, and bugs in mud!
- Local artisans with arts and crafts for sale, including pottery, silk and woven scarves, cards, and matted photos
- Game Pack booklet and “Passport to Fun” for children
- Hands-on watershed demonstration table
- Macro-invertebrate display (insects, worms, crayfish)
- Crafting for kids including clay animal sculpting table, origami, and butterfly coloring
- Games for kids
- Exhibits on trees, gardening with native plants, insects, and microplastics
- Kayak Raffle and other prizes drawing on Sunday afternoon
