This past fall, Pawling High School students in the Environmental Science, Creative Crafts and Sculpture classes were privileged to participate in a project under the direction of Aurora Robson, a nationally known sculptor and environmental activist. She creates amazing sculptures made from discarded plastic bottles and other scraps found in the waste stream. The kids did a cleanup in the Great Swamp, then sorted, cleaned, and saved the “good stuff”, and disposed of unwanted pieces environmentally. The Sculpture and Crafts students then created highly imaginative works of their own.
Evening celebration:
- Aurora Robson presentation
- Showing of the “The Great Swamp” video narrated by James Earl Jones
- Silent auction of the students’ work (proceeds will be donated to FrOGS)
- Refreshments will be served
The event is free and open to the public.
